Even before Joy could spell “writer” she was making up epic and very dramatic stories about her plastic animal toys (usually undoing the evil plots of Stephanie the polar bear). She loves storytelling in all its forms, from her patients’ stories to oral histories, podcasts and movies, to books.
Currently Joy is a resident physician at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. She has interests in women’s health, gastroenterology, nutrition, and the medical humanities. When not working (which is a lot these days), Joy can be found exploring Boston with her other half, Jovian, catching up on Netflix, and writing in her writer’s journal or Pathos and Pathology.
